secrets

I have been knitting, I promise.

A couple weekends ago, some friends had a baby shower. I knit up this baby hat called Miss Dashwood. I used GGH Via Mala in petal pink (or rosa in German).

Isn't it cute?

I can't wait to see it on their baby when she arrives at the end of October! I'm happy to report that it was well received. I have some yarn leftover, so maybe I will knit up some booties too.

I'm working on another baby present for a coworker who is also having a Halloween baby. I hope to have it finished by the end of the upcoming weekend, so I will take pictures then.

In other knitting news, I 've finished part of Tim's anniversary present. It came out so well, that I'm going to knit something else to go along with it. I think I have teased Tim already with past posts regarding gifts for him though, so I am going to save pictures of this until after our anniversary.

So I have been knitting. Everything is just so very secret.

I bet it's called Miss Dashwood after the ladies of "Sense and Sensibility"!

You know, I was going to knit this hat - except I read the pattern and decided it was too advanced for me. Maybe I can come to you for help? My neice is 8 months old and would look adorable in it!! Great work!

Thanks, Melodie :)

You can ask me if you have any questions. It does look kind of confusing at first, but it's actually pretty straight forward. You just need to jump right in and do exactly what it says, even if it sounds crazy. It ends up working out.

The one thing I found difficult was the bobbles. You need to knit or purl 4 stitches together at a time for different parts of those, and since I knit very tightly, that was somewhat difficult for me to do. I had to bring out a crochet hook to try to get the yarn through. If you knit loosely, you shouldn't have a problem.

I would say give it a shot though. You never know until you try! I can offer some help, and if you have a local yarn store, I'm sure they can help you out too.
