My 914 started life as a '72 914 and has been converted with a '65 911 2.0L engine which I to 2.2E specs. Owner: Tim Martin, Sunnyvale California.

Main bearing
The bearings looked very good, but there were some subtle spots, no lines, scratches, or wearing through. It's good to find evidence like this that the engine has been running well for some time.
