My 914 started life as a '72 914 and has been converted with a '65 911 2.0L engine which I to 2.2E specs. Owner: Tim Martin, Sunnyvale California.

Time for new torsion bars. The back has 180lb springs so I figured the 18mm stock bars in the front were ready to be replaced.

Torsion Bars

Notice they were rubbing the tubes near the center of this picture. That's really not good as they can actually break because of this wearing and you really don't want that to happen while driving. A note for you weekend mechanics: 914-4's have bars with a different number of splines on the end then 914-6's or 911's. So don't buy 914-6 torsion bars for your conversion unless you're replacing your A-arms with them!
