My 914 started life as a '72 914 and has been converted with a '65 911 2.0L engine which I to 2.2E specs. Owner: Tim Martin, Sunnyvale California.

One of these works, one of them doesn't. Later, neither would work. Then one would work again. Tach's have been an issue for my car all along.
