Effexor is evil

Just to put effexor's side effects into perspective in yet another way....
From January 2003 to May 2004 (while on effexor) I gained 20 lbs.
Since quitting effexor in July (without changing my diet or exercise at all) I have lost 15 of those pounds.
Hooray for my metabolism getting back to normal!!

Chaos

Semester's end is always so busy. Add on top of that the new house needs and there doesn't seem to be much free time. Moving into a house that you own is SO MUCH MORE work than moving in to a new rental. Oh my goodness. We are having people over for Thanksgiving in two days and we have so much more to do before the house will be presentable (and usable in order to cook a turkey and other things!).

So many papers due in the next few weeks, so many final exams and projects. On top of that, I'm stressed about my internship for the spring semester (which the internship advisor doesn't seem to be working very hard to set up). I really don't have time to find one on my own. December 15th....if only I can make it until then, I will have a month off for travel, housework, and maybe even some time for myself and my hubby and even some of our friends!

I can't wait to post some "after" pictures of our house. Tim and I decided that we are going to keep a list of all the improvements that we do, for out own amusement and appreciation of our hard work. We're also still trying to deal with all the people who are trying to rip us off, but hopefully those will be settled soon - one way or another.

Life goes on, one day at a time. That's the only way I will get through all of this chaos.

this is me having a breakdown

Why are people such fucking assholes all the time? I'm seriously fed up with just about everyone right now. Everyone is trying to rip us off. No one seems to think it is possible that something might work in a different way than they were expecting. No one wants to have any give and come to a mutually satisfying conclusion.

According to the Japanese calendar, this is the year of the Monkey. While somewhat fitting, I prefer to call it the year of the Ass.

I pretty much hate everyone.

all moved

Moving, as it nearly always is, was a huge ordeal. I don't even want to think of how many things were unexpected, but we are all moved in and even have some (not all) furniture assembled and placed. We have hot water now, our directv is set up, and our dsl is back up and running. The huge piles of boxes are another story, which I don't have time to deal with because there are only five more weeks of class this semester - meaning everything is due now. The dust from moving was also not very nice to this cold that has been lingering in me for about a week, so I'm getting drugged up on cold medicine.

Just wanted to let you know everything went okay and we are here. Now I'm going to take a much needed nap.

Dear Iraq:

We didn't do this to you.
Don't bomb the blue states.

Thank you.
